Platforms - Handheld Devices
Bedrock doesn't just support mobile devices. If you have a great piece of IP we understand that you may want to leverage it onto devices outside of just the mobile market. The obvious first step would be into the handheld market, and to that end Bedrock enables developers to have their code converted to the popular handheld devices in the market today.
Nintendo DSi
The launch of the Nintendo DSi saw the introduction of DSiWare downloadable content and a new channel for publishers and individuals to develop content for. To allow existing and new content to easily target this wide established audience, Bedrock includes support for cross-compiling your game code to run on DSiWare (and all the standard cartridge based formats - DS/DSi/DS-DSi).
Features
- Support for DS/DSi/DS-DSi/DSiWare builds
- Dual screen display support with double buffering
- Touch screen support
- eManual support
- LotCheck compliance
Sony PSP
With the appearance and growth of the PlayStation Store, the desire to develop PSP Minis versions of games is becoming more and more popular. With the ability to target not just PSP owners, but also PS3 owners (via its PSP emulator), taking advantage of this possible platform can expose your application to a very large audience of potential customers. As a result, Bedrock includes the PSP as one of its target platforms, cross-compiling your game code to run for both sections of this target audience.
Features
- Minis support
- PSP & PS3 emulator compliance
- Automated DevStudio project generation for ProDG debugging (using the PSP devkit)
- 3D library support (via JSR 239)
- Analog stick input (via Sensors API)
- Save File Slot support within RecordStore (including custom namings, icons, etc.)
- Sony TRC compliance
